Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a potential return for Harry Winks
Tottenham Hotspur might need to do some business in January if they are to contend for a top-four place as recent fixtures have shown some gaping holes in the squad which need to be resolved.
Having said that, Spurs are keen on sanctioning the return of Harry Winks from Leicester City, according to Caught Offside. The midfielder departed north London just last year but having performed impressively with the Foxes, Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to pay as much as £32 million to bring him back in 2025.
The swoop back to Hotspur Way for Winks would see Tottenham lose over £20 million in the midfielder’s transaction, which pretty much sums up how the club has been run under Daniel Levy. On a side note, it is also debatable whether or not the Lilywhites actually need a midfielder or if they must focus on signing a central defender and a couple of attackers.
Tottenham have a host of good midfielders at their disposal and Ange Postecoglou has been able to rotate his engine room very comfortably in the Europa League and Premier League. Moreover, fitness in the middle of the park has been kind to the Australian at least so far this season and his biggest setback is a 7-match ban that has just been handed out to Rodrigo Bentancur.

Winks, even if he were to be re-signed, might not be handed a primary role in the team, which would practically mean that Spurs’ investment and subsequent loss on the overall transaction is futile.
