Most of the Bayern Munich loanees were idol this week, but we had some international callups that included Lee getting his first Cap for South Korea. Besides those on international duty there were other loanees in action this week — the six that play in the Regionalligas and the women. See what everyone in action did this week and how their teams did.
Note: those that were idol this week are not listed in this edition.
FC Bayern Munich
There are nine players on loan from the first team.
Germany – Bundesliga
There are five players on loan in the German Bundesliga: Alexander Nübel, Franz Krätzig, Paul Wanner, Armando Sieb, and Gabriel Vidović.
Alexander Nübel – VfB Stuttgart
Nübel is with the German national team, but did not play in the 7-0 blowout against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Last international break, he started one and sat the other. Hopefully he gets a chance on Tuesday against Hungary.
When Nübel returns to club action, Stuttgart will host Bochum on Saturday.
Gabriel Vidović – 1. FSV Mainz 05
Vidović is with Croatia’s U21 for their U-21 Euro Qualifiers. He was on the bench for the first match at Georgia, but did not make it onto the pitch. Croatia fell 1-0. They will host Georgia in the return match on Tuesday.
Although he rarely appears for Mainz, they will be on the road against Holstein Kiel on Sunday.
Austria – Bundesliga
Lovro Zvonarek is the only player from the first team on loan to the Austrian Bundesliga.
Lovro Zvonarek – Sturm Graz
Like Vidović, Zvonarek is also with Croatia’s U21s. On Friday he played the full 90 minutes against Georgia’s U21. An early own goal by one of his teammates was the only goal scored as they fell 1-0. Their goalie also received a red card, which meant Croatia had to play down a man for the last 30 minutes. The return match in Croatia to qualify for the U21 Euros will be on Tuesday.
In club play, Sturm Graz will host SK Austria Klagenfurt.
FC Bayern Munich II
There are twelve players on loan from the second team.
Germany – 2. Bundesliga
Hyun-ju Lee is the only player from the second team loaned out to the 2. Bundesliga
Hyun-ju Lee – Hannover 96
Lee was called up to the South Korean national team for this round of World Cup Qualifiers. He received his first cap on Thursday away to Kuwait. He entered the match in the 81st minute when South Korea was already up 3-1. He only had three touches in nine minutes and although he did not need to make an impact, the only thing he had a chance to do is complete two of two passes. South Korea will face Palestine away on Tuesday in another qualifier.
Hannover will host Darmstadt on Saturday when Lee returns to Germany.
Germany – Regionalliga
There are six players Regionalliga teams: Lukas Schneller and Marko Popović in Regionalliga Bayern, Luka Parkadge and Robert Deziel Jr in Regionalliga Nordost, and Yousef Qashi and Benedikt Wimmer in Regionalliga West.
Lukas Schneller – Schweinfurt 05
Schneller started in goal for Schweinfurt against TSV Buchbach. About ten minutes after his team went up 1-0, they went down to ten men. Ten minutes later Schneller faced a penalty, but was unable to save it conceding the equalizer. He kept everyone else out, leaving the final score at 1-1.
Schweinfurt 05 will host FC Eintracht Bamberg on Saturday.
Marko Popović – Türkgücü München
Popović was on the bench for a rare Türkgücü win — 1-0 away to Augsburg II — but did not make it onto the pitch. Despite the win, they still sit in last place, five points behind 17th place.
Türkgücü will host TSV Aubstadt.
Luka Parkadze – Altglienicke
Parkadze started for Altglienicke in their Berliner Pokal match against lower division 1.FC Wilmersdorf. He only made it 31 minutes before needing to be replaced.
Robert Deziel Jr – Altglienicke
Deziel also started for Altgliencke, but he was able to play the full 90 minutes in a weird match. Altglienicke scored early, but could not find a goal again in the first half. Wilmersdorf equalized before the half, but Altglienicke jumped to a commanding three-goal lead shortly after the break. The home made things interesting with two goals after the 80th minute, but never found the equalizer. The final score was 4-3 and Altglienicke moves onto the next round.
In a return to league play, Altglienicke will travel to face RW Erfurt.
Yousef Qashi – Wupertaler SV
Qashi was not on the matchday squad for Wupertaler SV’s local Pokal match against league rivals SC RW Oberhausen.
Benedikt Wimmer – Wupertaler SV
Wimmer started for Wupertaler in the Pokal match and played the full 90 minutes. Unfortunately his team, and the defense he anchors, allowed three goals, but could not score any goals. They crash out of the Pokal, and will not be able to qualify for next year’s DFB-Pokal.
Wupertalker SV will be on the road against VfL Sportfreunde Lotte on Saturday in a return to league play.
Netherlands – Kampioen Divisie
David Jonathans is the only player on loan to the Dutch Kampioen Divisie.
David Jonathans – FC Den Bosch
Johnathans — who apparently is from Luxembourg — was called into their camp for this round of UEFA Nations League. He was on the bench on Friday for a 1-0 home loss against Bulgaria, but did not make it onto the pitch. Luxembourg will host Northern Ireland on Monday.
Den Bosch will host Excelsior on Friday.
FC Bayern Frauen
There are five players on loan from FC Bayern’s Frauen team.
Germany — Frauen-Bundesliga
Karólína Lea Vilhjálmsdóttir is the only player on loan in the Frauen-Bundesliga.
Karólína Lea Vilhjálmsdóttir – Bayer 04 Leverkusen
Vilhjálmsdóttir started for Leverkusen in Leipzig against RB. She had two shots — one on goal and one that was blocked. She also created two chances for her teammates to shoot. Perhaps more importantly, she helped on defense with a clearance, an interception, and five recoveries to help keep the shutout. She played almost the full 90 minutes, being subbed off in the third minute of stoppage time. Leverkusen left Leipzig 1-0.
Leverkusen will host Turbine Potsdam in the DFB-Pokal Frauen on Friday.
England – Women’s Super League
Jill Baijings is the only player on loan to the Women’s Super League.
Jill Baijings – Aston Villa
Baijings was once again missing from the Aston Villa matchday squad for the 3-2 win over Crystal Palace.
Villa travel to London to face Tottenham on Saturday in a group match of the Women’s League Cup.
Spain – Primera División Femenina
Natalia Padilla is the only player on loan to the Primera División Femenina.
Natalia Padilla – FC Sevilla
Padilla was on the bench for the beginning of Sevilla’s match against Atletico Madrid. She came on the pitch in the 67th minute with her team up 1-0. Shortly after she came on, Sevilla went down to ten after a teammate picked up a second yellow. Just a minute after the red, Atletico equalized. Padilla created a chance to shoot, but unfortunately she could not help her team find a goal and her team conceded the winning goal in stoppage time.
Sevilla will host Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday.
Italy – Serie A
Cecilía Rán Rúnarsdóttir is the only player on loan to Serie A
Cecilía Rán Rúnarsdóttir – Inter Milan
Rúnarsdóttir started in goal for Inter away against Sampdoria. For the second week in a row, she kept a clean sheet and got the win. Her team scored three goals — including a goal from former Bayern captain Lina Magull — and Inter cruised to a 3-0 win.
Inter will face SSD Napoli on Saturday.
