Liverpool manager Arne Slot could be set to deal West Ham United a huge blow this winter.
West Ham are really struggling right now, whilst Liverpool are flying after Slot replaced Jurgen Klopp at Anfield in the summer.
Both Julen Lopetegui and Slot will be keen to keen to strengthen their ranks at the London Stadium and Anfield respectively in the January transfer window.
Lopetegui is said to be facing the possibility of the sack, but even if he does remain in charge, there could be trouble ahead.
The January transfer window will be vital to our hopes of improving.
The current squad is incredibly unbalanced, and needs a big injection of both quality and youth.
However, one of our reported January plans may well be scuppered by Liverpool.
West Ham face a problem as Liverpool eye Christian Pulisic
According to a report from Calcio Mercato, the Reds have joined the Hammers in the race to sign Christian Pulisic from AC Milan this winter.
That will make West Ham’s task of signing him almost impossible.
When speaking on the Alexi Lalas’ State of the Union Podcast, former USMNT midfielder Sacha Bryan Kljestan described Pulisic as ‘world-class’.
The 26-year-old former Chelsea star rose to fame as a teenager during his time with Borussia Dortmund, but he hasn’t yet reached the heights that were expected of him.
That said, he has been brilliant for AC Milan over the past 16 months, with 22 goals and 16 assists to his name in 65 appearances (Transfermarkt).
The 75-capped USMNT international is extremely versatile, and can play anywhere along the front-line.
Pulisic possesses exceptional technical ability, really impressive pace and offers genuine output inside the final third.
The AC Milan star has absolutely everything you look for in an attacking player, and he is more than good enough to succeed in the Premier League.
I would love Christian Pulisic at West Ham, but with Liverpool said to be in the running for his signature, it could well be game over for us.
