It is safe to say that things have not been going well for Radu Drăgușin in his first full season at Tottenham.
With a string of poor performances and exit speculation surrounding the Romanian, his agent has had to come out and address his situation.
Agent of Radu Drăgușin speaks out amid exit links
In a recent interview, Florin Manea, the agent of Tottenahm defender Radu Drăgușin, addressed the reports linking his client away from the club less than 12 months after his arrival.
“It is an honour for Radu to be wanted by teams like Napoli and Juve, but right now they are just rumours.
“We are focused on Tottenham. He still has five years left on his contract. It is not easy to go to a top club and impose yourself right away, he is still 22-years-old.
“If he never plays this season it is normal that other evaluations will be made: in January he won’t move, in June he will be evaluated.”
Manea, as quoted by Football365.
Drăgușin was reported to be unhappy with his game time not too long ago, but his recent underwhelming performances when called upon by Ange Postecoglou have added further fuel to the speculation fire.
Drăgușin is wanted by both Napoli and Juve, the latter in particular need of a centre-half for the remainder of the season.
The Romania international has made nine appearances for Spurs this season across all competitions. His current contract, worth €85k per week, is set to run until June 2030.
A come-and-get-me plea
The fact that Manea actively pointed out the years remaining in Drăgușin’s Spurs contract hints at the likelihood of the player willing to leave the club if a decent offer were to arrive in January.
Of course, Spurs won’t part away with the Romanian easily just yet, and a lot can happen before January to change Drăgușin’s fortunes as well, especially given the speculation surrounding Postecoglou.
Either way, do not rule out activity on Drăgușin’s front when January rolls around, given how frequently his agent has been happy to talk about his departure from North London.
