Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to bring in a wide forward in the upcoming 2025 transfer intervals, with Ange Postecoglou looking to add more flair and dynamism to his options in the attacking side of things, and the Lilywhites have been urged to make a move for wantaway Manchester United star Marcus Rashford.
The England international is in a tricky situation at Old Trafford following Ruben Amorim taking over the reins at United, and after he was left out of the squad recently, the forward admitted to Henry Winter about his readiness to call it quits with his boyhood club and move on from Carrington in search of a new challenge.
Wenham urges Tottenham to sign Rashford
Rashford is one of the most potent wingers in the Premier League, although he has struggled for form of late. And John Wenham, owner of the reputed Spurs podcast Lilywhites Rose, has urged Daniel Levy to bring the 27-year-old to White Hart Lane; however, he did admit that the Premier League heavyweights United wouldn’t make any probable deal easy, complemented by the hefty wages that Rashy takes on a weekly basis.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham said:
“I think the wages make a deal for Rashford impossible. In addition, I don’t see Manchester United subsidising his wages to allow him to join Tottenham on loan as we’re fighting for very similar things to them this season. Therefore, I think that is a non-starter.
“I’m not quite sure where he is going to go because the big money he is on leaves him with very limited options. Man United might subsidise his wages so that he can leave England on a loan deal. However, he still has a few years left on his contract, which makes things really difficult.”
Rashford will without a doubt be a ceiling raiser in the current roster at White Hart Lane; however, we need to see if Levy is willing to bring him to N17 given his massive wages and whether Ange Postecoglou backs any possible deal for the 27-year-old.
