There have been wide reports in the Spanish media about Espanyol looking to part ways with Tottenham Hotspur loanee Alejo Veliz in the upcoming winter transfer window; however, the Spanish side could now get their hands on another Lilywhites gem, Lucas Bergvall.
Alejo Veliz has been struggling to find his feet in his loan spell with the La Liga side, and he has found it difficult to get into the starting eleven of the newly promoted side, which has brought in suggestions that the loan can come to a premature conclusion.
Tottenham propose Bergvall loan move
And per the latest claims by La Grada Radio, Veliz’s exit from RCDE Stadium has been practically sealed ahead of the window, and the striker is all set to come back to North London. The same report now claims that the Lilywhites have ‘proposed’ prospects of sending Lucas Bergvall on loan to the Spanish top tier in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign.
Bergvall has shown glimpses of talent at White Hart Lane in the first half of the season, albeit the opportunities are difficult to come by given Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison being ahead of him in the pecking order at Hotspur Way. The teenager could do a lot of good with getting some regular minutes under his belt, and that could be what the North Londoners are aiming for with the proposed loan to Espanyol.
