Reports suggesting that West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen is available for transfer at £150 million are completely inaccurate.
When Claret & Hugh spoke to a club source last week to clarify Mohammed Kudus’ transfer position, we were told: “Jarrod is not for sale and is on a very long contract.”
Recent speculation has suggested that Bowen could be available to replace Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah if they come up with a £150 million transfer fee. However, this rumour is completely inaccurate and wide of the mark. West Ham have no desire to sell a player who is already becoming a club legend.
It’s also worth noting that Bowen is understood to be very happy and settled at West Ham, enjoying his role as club captain. While there is some frustration among the playing staff that the club hasn’t kicked on as expected this season, the Hammers’ hero from Prague is not one of the players agitating for a move.
Perhaps the story stems from two different reports being mixed up. Mohammed Kudus is indeed available during the current transfer window, with a price tag of £100 million. The Ghanaian is a winger who also interests Liverpool and could easily slot into the position potentially vacated by Salah when his contract expires.
That said, Liverpool have been resurgent this season and are understood to be in talks with their record-breaking Egyptian forward, who has been in sensational form. It is entirely plausible that the Anfield club will have no need for either Bowen or Kudus.
