AFCB Looking To Beat Club Unbeaten Run Record
After our draw away at Craven Cottage against Fulham, the Cherries have equaled last season’s seven game unbeaten run and is the best unbeaten run by AFCB in this league. AFCB at the half way stage after playing 19 games are in 7th place in the table with 30 points, this is also the highest position and points at this stage since we entered this league.

Our next game is back at home at Dean Court on Saturday at 3 pm, our visitors are Sean Dyche with his Everton team. Going into this game, after 18 played, Everton are in 16th place in the table with 17 points. After our game and late win against them up on Merseyside in August, AFCB will be looking for their first double this season and win or draw will create another record for our club of being eight games unbeaten in this league.
Since our game, on their travels Everton have won one game away, that was against Ipswich Town 0-2. They have drawn 1-1 with Leicester City, 0-0 with both London clubs, West Ham and Arsenal and Manchester City 1-1. They have lost 3-2 against Aston Villa, 3-2 at Southampton and 4-0 at Old Trafford against Manchester United. At home, they have won 2, drawn 4, lost 1.
The last time our two clubs met at Dean Court was in March last year. The Cherries took the lead in the second half through Dominic Solanke, Beto equalised for the Toffees three minutes before full-time. One minute into injury time, Seamus Coleman scored an own goal to give the Cherries a 2-1 victory.
In all our home league games against Everton, AFCB have W 5, D 2, L 0.
In all competitions against Everton, AFCB have W 8, D 2, L 10.
AFCB Team News
Tyler Adams was the latest to join the injury list as he missed the Fulham game. Justin Kluivert is available again after suspension.
AFCB Player To Watch
Our two leading scorers Evanilson and Antoine Semenyo have scored 5 goals, hopefully one or both of them will find the net against Everton, who managed to keep a clean sheet away at Arsenal and conceding one goal in the draw against Manchester City in their last two away games.
Everton Team News
Players who have been out injured, Timothy Iroegbunam, Seamus Coleman, Dwight McNeil and James Garner.
Everton Player To Watch
Everton have missed Dwight McNeil through injury, but they hope to have him back for our game. Joint leading for both goals and assists, scored 3 goals and has 3 assists. Good crosser of the ball and at taking set-pieces. Iliman Ndiaye is their other player with 3 goals.
The Referee
John Brooks is in charge of this game, he took our game away at Brighton and home against Liverpool last season.
Matt Stevenson added
I’ve looked at the last 4 league games for Everton. These were a tough set playing three of the top 4 and Man City. They had two home games (Chelsea and Nottingham Forest) and two away games (Arsenal and Man City). Everton have gained 3 points through 3 draws although they were notably the worst team in every game bar Chelsea. Everton have scored 1 goal and conceded 3 with xG estimating 2.64 goals with 5.96. It wouldn’t be a shock if Everton were happy with a 0-0 draw like Crystal Palace.
Everton have had 1 goal-scorer (Ndiaye).
The average positions of the starting line-ups are below. As the games have been difficult, it’s hard to know if Everton have been forced into defending or if that is their general style. Against Nottm Forest, when Everton were behind and playing a defensive team, they were more advanced. I would expect Everton to sit behind the ball against AFCB and counter when possible.
The following plot compares summary stats of Everton and AFCB over the last 4 games.
AFCB have significantly better attacking stats. We have more goal attempts per game, more big chances, and scored more goals. Defensively the two sides are posting similar stats, apart from big chances conceded where Everton have conceded more. AFCB have more xG, but xGc is very similar between the sides. Everton have had one error leading to chances whilst AFCB have 4.
Everton have a lower possession percentage than AFCB and is one of the lowest I’ve seen (alongside Crystal Palace at 35%). Pass completion is similar. Everton have a higher percentage of chances created from open play whilst AFCB concede a lower proportion from open play.

Going to be similar to the Crystal Palace game. Set up for a low block and see if Bournemouth can score. Aim for the win but settle for a draw. – To join the conversation, please click here.
