Tomori tipped to be Tottenham’s next signing
Tottenham Hotspur are pondering over revamping their defensive department this month following injury problems to Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin in recent months. The gravity of their situation is so bad that Archie Gray, an 18-year-old, is having to play in the heart of defence alongside Ben Davies, a player who is easily past his best years.
With that said, they have been linked with a number of players although deals for any of their targets are yet to materialise, understandably so. Most of the clubs around Europe will be reluctant in letting of their star names midway through the season and therefore, Tottenham might need to wait until the summer for their primary options.
Nevertheless, one player who is available for a January transfer is AC Milan star Fikayo Tomori. The former Chelsea defender has fallen out of favour at the Rossoneri, and having been excluded from Paulo Fonseca’s plans for much of the campaign, it is not looking likely that Sergio Conceicao will want to count on him either.
John Wenham believes Tomori would be a good addition to the Tottenham squad as he said the following to Tottenham Hotspur News about a potential swoop for him.
Tomori is a player who has won things. He’s actually been there, and done stuff and I do think he is actually quite a good player. Therefore, would I take him right now? Yes, I would.
Tomori’s career at Chelsea was short-lived but he was a crucial part of their team while he was at the club. The 27-year-old has the experience of playing in the Premier League for one of the biggest sides in Europe and was also a regular fixture at AC Milan during his early days at San Siro, so Tottenham will be bolstered by his signing this month.

It is not known how much he would cost but West Ham are also keen on his purchase, so a bidding war between the two Londoners might drive up his price by a few million pounds. It will be interesting to see if Tomori is open to joining Tottenham, however, given their bitter rivalry with Chelsea, the player’s boyhood side.
