Everton face Peterborough in the FA Cup as Sean Dyche’s side aim to progress to the fourth round for the fourth time in five years
Everton are back in action at Goodison Park for the first time in 2025 when they host Peterborough United in the FA Cup on Thursday evening. The pressure is mounting on Sean Dyche after Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth – a result that left the Toffees one point above the relegation zone.
A run of five games without a win has not helped Dyche’s cause, even if three successive draws against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City looked impressive at the time. Reports have suggested that new owners the Friedkin Group are growing uneasy with the side’s form, hinting that a change could be made.
However, Dyche is still in situ ahead of Everton’s FA Cup third-round tie against League One opposition in Peterborough. Posh, managed by Darren Ferguson – the son of Manchester United legend Sir Alex, have endured a difficult season so far after finishing in the play-off places last term.

Ahead of the game, Liverpool ECHO have taken a look at the key details, including kick-off time and how to watch.
When is Everton vs Peterborough
Everton’s home game against Peterborough in the FA Cup will take place on Thursday, January 9 at 7:45pm. The two teams have met just once in a competitive fixture before.
