Bayern Munich fans can get a breather now because Alphonso Davies, at one point on the brink of a transfer to Real Madrid, is reportedly closing in on a renewal in Bavaria and is re-negotiating with the club to iron out the financial aspect of his contract. The oft-quoted salary figure of “€20m/year” looks to have come down quite a ways after the latest rounds of discussions.
For Alphonso Davies, the most likely scenario at the moment is a contract extension. His previous demands of around €20m/year are unrealistic. The left-back currently earns around €11m gross per year. With the new deal, he would earn around €15m/year, in addition to a signing fee.

This is a more apt classification for his wages with respect to his performances. The Canadian has been amazing under head coach Vincent Kompany. And it seems that Davies has seen the light: Bayern is where he wants to be.
