A couple of Bayern Munich stars are putting in extra work to get ready for the Bundesliga restart. And a new contract is at stake for both of them.
From Bild prior to the RB Salzburg friendly, as captured by @iMiaSanMia:
Leroy Sané and Jamal Musiala completed an extra special fitness shift in the gym yesterday. Both of them left Säbener Straße late in the afternoon. Sané is motivated and determined to fight with all his might to get a new contract at Bayern. He’s also willing to compromise regarding his salary. Sané is aware that he has to deliver consistent performances on the pitch in the second half of the season to have a chance of securing a new deal [@BILD]
While Musiala is expected to be able to name his price for an extension, Sané is in a different boat. The veteran German winger has an expiring contract this summer and has been loosely linked with a bevy of clubs, but it is not clear there is concrete interest. It is not clear there is concrete interest from Bayern’s side to renew him, either. While Sané has undeniable world-beating talent at his best, he has been a mercurial talent who has shined and faded in phases.
This next phase will be crucial for his Bayern future — and by all indications that is something he wants badly.
