Lecce starlet Patrick Dorgu has been on Tottenham’s radar
Tottenham Hotspur have been actively trying to conclude the arrival of Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani in the ongoing winter transfer window, as Ange Postecoglou looks to fortify his attacking unit.
The Australian tactician has been looking to add more spark and dynamism in the attack, and Daniel Levy could bring in another high-potential young player that can carve a niche for himself at N17. It will also be much parallel to the transfer strategy that the North Londoners have adopted of late.
In addition, the club are also in the hunt for defensive reinforcements owing to their ongoing injury crisis. Destiny Udogie was the latest player to enter the treatment room, depleting Ange Postecoglou’s full-back options.

Lecce’s highly-rated talent Patrick Dorgu has been subject to aggressive links with Tottenham over the past few months. The 20-year-old has already showcased his talent and potential in Serie A. He has been a crucial cog for Marco Giampaolo since he became Lecce’s boss in November, starting 19 Serie A games and scoring three goals.
The Denmark international’s eye-catching performances have caught the attention of several clubs across Europe, including Spurs. Patrick Dorgu has been a versatile operator for the Serie A side, playing as a left-back, left midfield, left and right wing.
The Daily Mirror journalist Darren Lewis has shed further light on Tottenham’s links with Dorgu. He says that the Lecce prodigy is a “terrific player” and would provide quality to Ange Postecoglou’s attacking ranks.
“Dorgu—the 20-year-old is at Lecce. Really good player. He can play left side um the suggestion he can play anywhere down the left side, but I think he was playing in an advanced left-sided position. He’s scored three times so far this season from my memory. He’s a terrific player, again he would give you that ability to get in behind with a delivery and with an end product,” Darren Lewis said on the Last Word on Spurs podcast.

Truth be told, Dorgu would be a strong option to improve Big Ange’s squad. As he can play in different positions across the pitch, the youngster would be able to cover and compete with many experienced Spurs players. Having largely operated on the right flank this season, the Dane should bring much-needed competition for Brennan Johnson.

If the Lilywhites have enough funds to spend this month, they must at least test Lecce’s resolve with a bid for Dorgu.
