Arsenal want a new striker and are looking at Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic, according to a report from Italy.
Italian journalist Daniele Longo reports that Arsenal are looking for a new centre-forward, and they’re evaluating a move for Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus.
Longo had reported last week that Juventus are very much open to selling the striker, given his high salary and the fact his contract is expiring in 2026. But Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is looking to bring in €60m (£50.5m) for the 24-year-old.
The same report suggested that Arsenal have always had a weakness for Vlahovic, though it remains to be seen whether Juventus will push to do a deal now or simply prepare for the summer.
Vlahovic has scored 12 games in all competitions this season, adding a couple of assists on top of that. He’s had a couple of minor injury problems recently, but he’s expected to be back in action later this week.
La Stampa reported earlier this month that Arsenal were trying again for Vlahovic, and the serious injury to Gabriel Jesus after that may have caused them to step up their pursuit.
That report suggest Juventus would want a fee “much higher” than the €30m (£24.9m) required to avoid making a capital loss on him.
Arsenal have long been linked with Vlahovic and are clearly in the market for a forward. It wouldn’t be surprising to see more former targets cropping up as potential January additions in the coming days.
But perhaps this is a rare deal that the Gunners could have genuine shot at getting done this month.
