West Ham United are said to be eyeing up a move to sign an in-form attacker this winter.
Graham Potter desperately needs to bolster his attacking ranks at the London Stadium in the January transfer window.
West Ham are incredibly light in the forward department right now, with Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen and Niclas Fullkrug all out with long-term injuries.
Potter has said himself that he would like to make at least one attacking reinforcement this winter.
And it will be vital for the board to back him in the market.
However, the latest transfer rumour concerns a right winger potentially moving to the London Stadium in the January window.
West Ham in for Vaclav Cerny
Vaclav Cerny is currently on loan with Rangers, and he is enjoying a really fine season up in Scotland.
The 27-year-old has bagged 12 goals and seven assists in 32 games for the Gers so far (Transfermarkt).
A left-footed right winger, Cerny is currently on loan with Rangers from Wolfsburg.
However, Fichajes are claiming that Villarreal are trying to sign him, although West Ham are favourites to land his signature.
I have to be honest here, I really don’t see the need for us to sign Cerny in January.
He’s obviously a decent player, but the Scottish Premiership is nowhere near the standard of the English top flight.
And more importantly, we have more than enough cover in the right wing department, with Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen and even Crysencio Summerville, who can play there if need be.
I want to see West Ham sign a proper striker in the January window.
Graham Potter simply cannot allow the next few weeks to drift by without making some concrete moves in the market.
Signing Cerny would be a mistake if you ask me.
