Without knowing the full extent of injuries for Graham Potter’s first home game, picking the starting XI is going to be a bit of a guessing game. We are told that Jean-Clair Todibo, Niclas Fullkrug, Jarrod Bowen (plus Michail Antonio, of course) and Emerson Palmieri are still unfit. Plus there is a doubt over Crysencio Summerville who was taken off as a precaution at half time in the FA cup match against Aston Villa. Konstantinos Mavropanos is, apparently, fit and good to ago after a whack on the head.
Whilst we would expect Potters’ fledgling experiment with wingbacks to be the norm, it all depends on the availability of Summerville to continue where he left off on Friday night. Otherwise, it is a but of a guessing game!
West Ham United – our guess!
Fabianski | Wan Bissaka, Mavropanos, Kilman | Summerville, Alvarez, Soucek, Scarles | Paquetá, Ings, Kudus (3-4-3).
Would expect Kudus to move centrally after half time when Danny Ings blows up and Guilherme comes on to play on the right in place of the Ghanaian moving into the middle.
At which point new centre-forward ‘discovery’ Mohammed Kudus blasts two goals and takes the points for Potter’s first win: Flying unicorns will be spotted over London Stadium.
Score Predictions:
Gonzo 2-1 Fulham Win
Sean 0-0 Bore draw
Matt 1-0 West Ham Win
Martin 2-0 West Ham win; see above fantasist comments about a Kudus double.
