Bayern Munich’s U-14, U-15 and U-16 kicked off their preparation for the second half of the season in the second week of January, but were immediately in the thick of things by competing in their own respective tournaments on the very same weekend. The U-19s had their own tournament in the Mercedes. Each team competed in their own tournament, with the U-14s competing in the Styrian Indoormasters 2025 tournament, the U-15s competing in both the BWK Arena Cup and the Matthias Pape Memorial Tournament 2025, and the U-16s competing in the U16 Lindner Cup.
FCBayern.com went into detail about the U-14s narrow defeat:
On the first day of the tournament, the Munich team made an impressive start to the group phase. After victories against Eintracht Dortmund (5:1) and TSV Hartberg (3:2), a 1:1 draw against Austria Vienna and a 3:0 win against LASK Linz followed. A 4:2 triumph over NK Maribor and two draws against Slavia Prague (0:0) and AKA SV Ried (2:2) rounded off the group phase of the tournament. FCB was crowned group winners and deservedly moved into the next round.
The next day, the intermediate round was on. The German record champions’ juniors impressed with a 5-0 win against Ferencvaros Budapest, before beating Juventus Turin 1-0. At the end of the intermediate round, Kauffmann’s eleven drew 1-1 with GAK 1902. In the knockout phase that followed, they reached the final via [Chelsea FC] (3-2) and Hertha BSC (2-1). In the final against Club Brugge, Bayern’s U14s suffered their first defeat in the entire tournament (0-1), finishing in second place.
The U-15s and U-16s did not perform quite as well and received less in depth reviews:
The FC Bayern U-16 also took sixth place at the U16 Lindner Cup in Dettelbach. The U-15s were challenged twice: While the team of head coach Dennis Teschke, who was standing in for Alexander Moj, who was on parental leave, narrowly missed out on reaching the final round at the BWK Arena Cup, the FCB youngsters were defeated in the round of 16 at the Matthias Pape Memorial Tournament 2025.
