Tottenham have failed to get a deal for Randal Kolo Muani over the line
Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to add another striker to the roster at White Hart Lane in the ongoing winter transfer window.
The North Londoners were subject to aggressive links with Paris Saint-Germain’s Randal Kolo Muani. Only 18 months into his Paris Saint-Germain adventure, the 26-year-old had become surplus to requirements under Luis Enrique. He has started only two Ligue 1 games this season, leaving his future at Parc des Princes in doubt.
As per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the 2022 World Cup finalist has made his decision to join Juventus on loan instead of Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs. Now, according to an exclusive report from TBR Football, Tottenham have been left ‘gutted’ after missing out on Randal Kolo Muani to Juventus.

Last week, club chairman Daniel Levy, alongside director of football Johan Lange, flew to Paris to try and negotiate a deal for the French striker. This showed how much Spurs wanted to bring him to N17 in this transfer window.
Given the effort the club put in to sign Kolo Muani, it was clear that he was Ange Postecoglou’s top target to reinforce the attacking unit. The aforementioned report adds that the Hotspur Way chiefs felt that they were close to sealing the deal for the France international, but Juventus made a late push and he was convinced that a move to Italy would be the right destination for him—at least until the end of the season.
This has left Spurs ‘hugely disappointed’, having been working on a deal to sign Kolo Muani since October. Missing out on Kolo Muani feels like a significant blow for the North Londoners, but this also shows the great gap in the pulling power between Tottenham and Juventus.
Having said that, Spurs have got to move on to other alternative targets and fulfil Big Ange’s demands for a versatile forward. They are now understood to be monitoring the situation of OGC Nice forward Evann Guessand, but face competition from Premier League rivals West Ham United and Bournemouth.
Evann Guessand has had a fruitful first half of the season, where he has scored nine goals and supplied five assists in 25 games across all competitions. While the one-cap Ivory Coast international signed a new contract in August until 2028 (Transfermarkt), Nice would consider bids in the region of £20m this month.

Keeping that in mind, Levy and Co. must not waste further time and get a deal for Guessand over the line if he’s indeed among the club’s targets.
