Bayern Munich were heavily favored at the Allianz Arena as Hoffenheim is quietly having one of their worst seasons in the last decade. While it was a disaster for the visitors, Bayern have continued a great run of form towards the business end of the season.
Jersey Swap: Dennis Geiger
The 26-year-old had a great work rate and movement for Hoffenheim tonight. While it is difficult to award the attack without any goals, it was Geiger who made the best efforts. His passing accuracy was nearly perfect and won almost all his ground duels.
Der Kaiser: Raphaël Guerreiro
Raphaël Guerreiro has had limited playtime this season due to Alphonso Davies’ return to form this season and even Konrad Laimer excelling in defense. However, Guerreiro made no mistake by taking full advantage of the opportunity and scoring Bayern’s second with a lovely placed finish. The Portugal veteran still has the scoring touch.
Fußballgott: Joshua Kimmich
Kimmich is inevitable this season. What a run of form he is currently on, and the whole team is benefiting. Even without any goal contributions, his effect on the pitch is always felt.
Der Bomber: Harry Kane
The legendary English striker earned himself another great performance against Hoffenheim. The offense looked much more cohesive and the main beneficiary of this was Kane.
Meister of the Match: Leroy Sané
Leroy Sané was fantastic. Cutting right through the Hoffenheim defense and making some spectacular 1-2 plays to get opportunities for himself or teammates within the box. He opened the game with a lovely placed shot in the bottom half and added to his tally to score Bayern’s fourth. Hopefully a massive confidence boost for Sané.
