Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou comments on potential January reinforcements
Tottenham Hotspur have started the January transfer window well, but still require to address a few more gaping holes in the squad.
Goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky has been added to Ange Postecoglou’s roster to cover for the injured No.1 Guglielmo Vicario. Vicario is set to be absent until the end of February, and with his deputy Fraser Forster not performing up to the required standards, the Hotspur Way chiefs decided to act in the transfer market and sign Kinsky.
Spurs are also in the market for defensive and attacking reinforcements. Several centre-backs have been linked with a move to White Hart Lane in recent weeks and months, as Ange Postecoglou looks to add one owing to injuries to Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Ben Davies.

The North Londoners have also been vying for Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani’s signature. However, they have been beaten to the Frenchman’s loan services by Serie A giants Juventus. Links to Kolo Muani and plenty of other forwards indicate Tottenham are looking for a player who they believe can rotate with Dominic Solanke as well as the wingers.
Ange Postecoglou faced the media on Tuesday ahead of the big North London derby against Arsenal. During his pre-match presser, the Australian was asked about the possibility of new signings arriving during the January transfer window.
“It’s hard to say. Like most other clubs, January is a difficult one to really have any certainty about anything. There are a lot of things which need to come together. I think I said last week the club is working really hard in that area and if there are any developments we will let everyone know,” Postecoglou told Football London.
Clearly, Spurs require need signings to help Big Ange get their Premier League season back on track. They need a lot more than just Kinsky, whose performances in between the sticks in his first two outings have been extremely impressive.

A backup to Solanke is an absolute must, even though Richarlison has now recovered from injury. The club has set their sights on OGC Nice forward Evann Guessand, who has nine goals and five assists in 25 games across all competitions.
While the fans are excited about the prospect of getting a new forward, it is imperative that Spurs sign the right player who can not only immediately contribute but also deliver in the long term.
