West Ham United don’t want one specific player, and Leeds United look set to make a move to sign him.
The January transfer window will be vitally important to both Leeds and West Ham.
The Hammers are harbouring hopes of making a late push for the European spots with Graham Potter now at the helm, whilst Leeds have designs on securing automatic promotion back to the Premier League.
Potter has already made it very clear that he intends to bolster his ranks at the London Stadium this month.
The 49-year-old simply needs more bodies through the door, and he cannot exit the winter window without having strengthened his squad.
Leeds boss Daniel Farke is very much in the same boat at Elland Road.
And both Potter and Farke will be hopeful of getting a couple of new signings over the line before the January window slams shut.
Leeds could sign attacker who West Ham don’t want
The final couple of weeks of the January window are expected to be incredibly busy at both the London Stadium and Elland Road.
The Championship outfit are all set to step in and sign a player who’s been rejected by the Hammers.
That’s according to a report from Laola1, who claim that Mergim Berisha is a transfer target for Leeds.
The 26-year-old Hoffenheim striker was offered to West Ham on Thursday, but the Hammers allegedly turned down the chance to sign him.
I’m not surprised we refused the offer of the Germany international – he has scored just one goal in 17 outings this season.
That said, he may be a decent fit for Leeds, and could well succeed in the Championship.
Potter desperately needs to bring a new striker to the London Stadium this month, if he is to oversee a successful few years in charge.
And Berisha definitely isn’t the man for the job. The Hammers need to be targeting the addition of a talented young striker with explosive pace.
Leeds can have the Hoffenheim hitman.
The January window for West Ham will be all about bringing in a striker who is capable of taking us to the net level.
