Tottenham who were seeking to get back on track following their inconsistent performances last season having suffered a crushing blow in the north London derby, losing to Arsenal 2-1 putting even more pressure on Ange who is currently walking on thin ice. Due to the result, Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit believes that Tottenham should part ways with Postecoglou to relieve their players from further struggles.
Postecoglou’s side entered the clash at the Emirates Stadium seeking a strong response and found it early when Heung-min Son gave them the lead. However, Arsenal quickly took control of the game and secured a victory, with the Gunners having opportunities to extend their advantage even further.
Arsenal legend believes it is time for Tottenham to part ways with Ange
Spurs, who have now lost four of their last five Premier League matches, have picked up just 11 points from their last 12 games while conceding 22 goals. This recent run of form has worsened the situation for the Australian tactician, who is already walking on thin ice and losing support from fans.
Speaking to talkSPORT at the Emirates Stadium, Emmanuel Petit added his voice on the situation of Ange Postecoglou, realizing how isolated the manager looks on the touchline.
According to Petit, perhaps the time of Postecoglou at Spurs has come to an end, highlighting how frustrated and uninspired the players are on the pitch. And according to Petit, Tottenham clearly need a change, while he’s quite positive that Ange is going to get sacked.
Reflecting on Tottenham’s fitness issues, Petit stated that while injuries are significant challenges, the squad has enough quality to cope with them.
The former French footballer speaking on talkSPORT, expressed his discontentment
“I think things are probably coming to the end for him. I think that something has to change.”
“We can see the league, we can see the faces of the players tonight on the pitch and they look so miserable, nobody looks like themselves.”
“As I said, I think something has to change at Spurs so I think he will get the sack.”
