Bayern Munich’s main focus of the winter transfer window is getting the contract negotiations sorted for Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies and Joshua Kimmich, but that has not stopped from looking at possibilities that present themselves. One such situation for the Rekordmeister has been the rumored signing of TSG Hoffenheim youngster Tom Bischof that had been reported by Sky Sport last week.
Bischof’s current contract with Hoffenheim is set to expire this summer and he has reportedly decided to join Bayern on a free transfer after this season concludes. Bild has now corroborated the earlier report from Sky Sport saying the move was definitely going to take place and that it is planned for the 19-year-old to have a medical in Munich at some point during this week (via @iMiaSanMia).
As Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg had reported last week, both Vincent Kompany and Max Eberl played a big part in convincing the starlet to leave Hoffenheim for Bayern for next season and that it is not currently planned to have him go out on loan. It is planned that he will be with the team from the beginning of July when Bayern’s preseason preparations will begin for the 2025/26 campaign.
Bischof has been a bright spot in what has been a struggling Hoffenheim side this season that currently sits in 15th place, just outside of the relegation zone after the 3-1 win over Holstein Kiel this weekend. In that win, Bischof provided an assist for one of the three goals Hoffenheim scored. The assist added to his current tally and the youngster now has recorded two goals and three assists from a total of 24 appearances across all competitions. He is well on pace to beat out the four goals and four assists he tallied from playing with the Hoffenheim reserves last season before making his break into the senior squad.
