West Ham United could be set to lose out to Manchester United on one of our key transfer targets in the January window.
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is desperate to make some big changes to his squad at Old Trafford in the January window, and that’s very bad news indeed for West Ham.
Graham Potter is in the same boat – his squad at the London Stadium is desperately lacking in so many key areas.
The new Hammers head coach has an incredibly difficult job on his hands, if he is to succeed at the London Stadium.
Potter has already made it clear that he wants to bring some reinforcements into the club this winter.
However, that will undoubtedly prove challenging as per usual.
And now it seems like it might be even more difficult for the Hammers to make one signing in particular in the January window.
Manchester Utd to deal West Ham a big January window blow
So the Hammers could be set for some big disappointment this winter.
That’s because one of our key transfer targets seemingly could be Old Trafford bound.
According to a report from The Sun, Manchester United are eying up a big January window move to sign Patrick Dorgu from Lecce.
The 20-year-old left-back is a firm transfer target for the Hammers this winter, so Man United’s interest in signing him will be an obvious problem for us.
The young Dane has pace, power and explosive pace in abundance.
Tactical expert X account Counter Pressers have described him as ‘unstoppable’.
And when he’s on form, opposing players find it impossible to deal with him.
Patrick Dorgu custom built for the Premier League
Dorgu is how you imagine a player would be built in a lab, if he had to be guaranteed to succeed in the Premier League.
He is destined for big things, if he continues to work hard and applies himself correctly of course.
The left wing-back is valued at around €50 million (£42.3 million) by Lecce according to a report from Caught Offside.
Patrick Dorgu is exactly the type of player West Ham should be signing in the January transfer window, but it now seems like he could be Manchester United bound.
And if the Red Devils do sign him, it will be a major blow for the Hammers.
West Ham are crying out for a powerful young full-back / wing-back. And Dorgu is someone we should have moved on last year, before the biggest clubs in the world became interested in signing him.
