Bayern Munich’s starting center-backs, Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae, need understudies because they’re doing most of the defensive dirty work and might wear themselves out. Therefore, the club is exploring all the options for defensive reinforcements and two names have popped up in their search (is this Google?):
Bayern sent scouts to Spain on a couple of occasions to watch Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera (20). Mosquera’s name is on the club’s list and is regarded both as a player with potential for the future and who can also help immediately. Milan and Atlético Madrid are also interested. Mosquera will definitely stay at Valencia until the end of the season, but negotiations over a new deal are at a standstill. His contract runs until 2026.

In addition to Mosquera, Sporting CP center-back Ousmane Diomande is also on the shortlist, but the Lisbon club quoted €50-60 million for the 21-year-old Ivorian. Of the two choices, the Bavarians believe that Diomande is the more feasible option. Let us know which one you prefer in the comments!
