When one is in the midst of a historically poor season with their chosen football club, one must take what small pleasures one can. And so here’s a small one that could potentially turn into a big one in a few days:
Micky van de Ven is back in Tottenham Hotspur full training!
Rejoice! It’s fantastic news, but I can’t imagine we’ll see Micky play against Elfsborg in the Europa League on Thurdsay. I know that Ange Postecoglou has been super careful about bringing players back too soon in recent months — look how long it took for him to get Richarlison back to speed, for example, and also Cuti Romero’s been in training for at least a week now.
So short term — perhaps not too much benefit. But in the medium term, this is utterly fantastic. We need Cuti and Micky healthy if we’re going to salvage anything from this disasterclass of a season.
