Hammers legend Tony Gale has nailed it on the major positive from the tepid West Ham United defeat to Brentford.
As predicted by Hammers News this morning, David Moyes made nine changes for West Ham’s trip to Brentford.
The trouble is West Ham’s defeat proved all too predictable too.
Moyes cannot be criticised for this one as most of the West Ham fanbase had called on the Scot to make sweeping changes to rest players for the crucial Europa Conference League semi-final second leg on Thursday night.
With Michail Antonio nursing a calf injury, West Ham looked toothless up front for the most part and were second best all over the pitch.
West Ham know they are all but officially safe ahead of an expected win for Liverpool over Leicester on Monday night.

And this second string played like it. Brentford fully deserved the easy 2-0 win which at times was more reminiscent of a pre-season friendly.
Danny Ings had a goal harshly ruled out by VAR which may have changed the game late on. But it is very hard to make a case for West Ham deserving anything out of this match.
There was something good to come out of the game, though.

Mubama also a bright spark
Speaking on commentary just before the final whistle, Gale said the big positive for West Ham was the fact they have not picked up any new injuries.
We must add that the performance of Divin Mubama deserves a mention as a positive.
But Gale is right, other than nicking an unlikely point, no new injuries was the most important factor.
It’s hard enough for West Ham to get results in the Premier League with their first choice XI fit and firing.
So a B team against the Bees – albeit minus star Ivan Toney – was always going to be tough.
All eyes now turn to Thursday night and one of the biggest matches in West Ham’s modern history.
Let’s just hope we can get Antonio back for it.
