- Hodgson reserved special praise for Michael Olise, who provided three assists
Roy Hodgson maintained there has been no magic formula to five-star Crystal Palace‘s dramatic turnaround since his appointment.
The stunning victory at Leeds United takes Palace six points clear of the relegation zone following consecutive wins for the first time since November.
The resurgence has pulled them clear of trouble and showcased the ability at Hodgson’s disposal after he took over from Patrick Vieira.
‘All you can do as a coach is give people the confidence to do the things you can see in training and not be affected by the noise outside when things aren’t going your way,’ Hodgson said.
‘It’s not a magic wand type of situation. It’s a perfect start. The training has been fantastic, the sun has been shining. It’s nice to be back.

Hodgson was full of praise for Michael Olise, who produced three assists for Palace
Leeds United manager Javi Gracia admitted that his team lost aggression after half time
‘Everything couldn’t be better so far but I know there are different types of days ahead and one day I’ll be answering very different questions. I have to enjoy these moments as they won’t last forever.’
Alongside Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze was instrumental at Elland Road and added: ‘It is a credit to everyone that has been putting in the work. It has been a long time since we have been playing like this.’
Olise finished with three assists in an electric display and Hodgson reserved special praise for the France Under-21 international.
‘Michael was spot on with everything in the second half,’ Hodgson said. ‘He got it all right. You saw what a wonderful player he is. He’s an enormous talent.
‘He’s got a great possibility of having a wonderful future. We can only hope that we give him a platform.’
Leeds boss Javi Gracia, whose side are two points above the bottom three, admitted that they lost aggression after half-time.
‘I believe in them, I trust them,’ he said. ‘In this situation, we are going to do it together. Today we lose together. We didn’t keep the levels up. We have to learn.
‘We have to learn that when we’re at 100 per cent we can beat anyone. When we don’t do it, this can happen.’
