AZ Alkmaar smash five goals in West Ham rehearsal
West Ham’s Euro Conference opponents AZ Alkmaar have made things look more than a little off colour for West Ham as they hit form with a vengeance in their Sunday match against FC Emmen.
They thrashed their lowly opponents 5-1 ahead of the semi final second leg Europa Conference match against the Hammers on Thursday,
The third placed Dutch club rifled home four goals in the first 28 minutes which is only the second time in their history they have managed such a feat.
“AZ have scored four goals within the first 28 minutes of an Eredivisie game for only the second time in club history, after doing so first in 2008 v Sparta (also the fourth goal in the 28th minute). Glut,” Opta posted on Sunday night.
Sparta by the way is owned by West Ham’s second largest shareholder Daniel Kretinsky!
AZ stuck closer to the line up he played at the London Stadium whilst the Irons were subject to wholesale changes
