Divin Mubama was one huge positive for West Ham in a sea of negativity in west London against Brentford yesterday afternoon.
David Moyes brought Divin Mubama on in place of Pablo Fornals in the 58th minute of our Premier League defeat to Brentford yesterday.

What a terrible afternoon it was for the Hammers against the Bees. The football was pathetically bad, but in fairness that could be expected considering the fact that Moyes made nine changes to his starting XI.
However, what wasn’t expected was the total lack of fight, commitment and effort from the West Ham second string.
It was a shambolic performance from pretty much everyone involved in the game. However, there was one big positive for the Hammers as far as I’m concerned…
Divin Mubama was a huge positive for West Ham after Brentford defeat
The talented teenager was a real bright spark for the away side yesterday.
He looked alive, showcased great movement and superb technical ability when he had the ball.
Most importantly perhaps was his determination and desire -something that no other West Ham player displayed on the day.
For someone so young, Mubama also tried to lift his teammates, and showed real leadership qualities. I think it’s clear to see that we have one very special player on our hands.
Mubama was the standout player for the West Ham under-18s and under-21s this season. He bagged 30 goals in 32 games for the Hammers’ youth sides (Transfermarkt).
He has all the makings of an elite centre-forward, and it will be really interesting to watch his development over the next few years.
In my opinion, Divin Mubama is ready to be part of the senior squad week in, week out next season – his performance for West Ham against Brentford proved that.
Now it’s up to Moyes, or whoever is in charge of the Hammers after this season, to assist the 18-year-old striker in his development.
