Gabriel Martinelli was injured in a challenge during Arsenal’s match against Brighton at the weekend, and he was forced to withdraw from the contest in the first half with an injury.
After the game, Martinelli was seen on the pitch wearing a protective boot, which will always worry supporters.

But it’s worth bearing in mind that these boots are often a precautionary measure, particularly so soon after the initial injury.
Bruno Fernandes was pictured wearing a protective boot next to a pair of crutches in late April, only to play in Manchester United’s next game.
One Arsenal fan caught up with Gunners Head of Medical Services Gary O’Driscoll after the game, asking him about Martinelli’s condition.
“Sore,” O’Driscoll responded. “Terrible foul, it’s a disgraceful foul. But yeah, he’s a bit sore, but he should be okay. Yeah, I think he’ll be back before the end of the season.”
The Evening Standard report that Martinelli will have a scan on the ankle problem, with Arsenal hoping he hasn’t suffered serious damage.
Arsenal only have a couple of games left in the current campaign, and seemingly little to play for other than to end on a high.
It would take a monumental collapse for Manchester City to reopen the door to the title, and Mikel Arteta’s side have already mathematically finished ahead of the rest of the league.
