A top journalist has claimed West Ham could accept an imminent low-ball Arsenal offer for Declan Rice on one condition.
Declan Rice is likely to leave West Ham this summer with Arsenal said to be the frontrunners for his signature.
With Bayern Munich, Man United and Man City also linked in the last week, though, Arsenal by no means have a free run at the West Ham captain.
The Daily Star recently claimed the Gunners are confident of signing Rice, who is valued at between £100-120m by West Ham.
It was confirmed this week that the domestic transfer window for Premier League clubs opens on June 13th.
Top journalist claims West Ham could accept imminent low-ball Arsenal offer for Declan Rice on one condition
That’s just six days after the Europa Conference League final West Ham are hoping to make it to.
With Arsenal’s title-challenge all but over, it seems Mikel Arteta is already making his transfer moves.
Now a top journalist claims West Ham could accept an imminent low-ball Arsenal offer for Rice on one condition.
According to The Telegraph’s Matt Law, Arsenal are working on structuring a deal worth £92 million for West Ham midfielder Rice.
Huge claim from Telegraph journalist
And while that is below West Ham’s valuation, Law claims West Ham could accept the offer. That’s if a big proportion is paid up front.
“Raising funds through sales will help to boost Arteta’s transfer kitty, with the biggest fee currently being held back for Rice,” Law says.
“Arsenal are putting together an offer worth a club-record £92 million for England international Rice. But West Ham will want as much as possible of that fee paid up front.
“Despite interest from Manchester United, Arsenal remain confident they can agree a deal with West Ham and land Rice this summer.”
Bidding war perfect scenario for Hammers
Hammers News reported earlier this week on claims that Arteta is planning to add a personal touch to Arsenal’s move for Rice in a bid to beat off competition from other clubs.
For West Ham a bidding war is ideal.
Of the clubs reportedly interested, Arsenal, Man United, Man City and Bayern will all have Champions League football next season.
But realistically only Man City and Bayern can all but guarantee top tier European football season in, season out.
