Tomas Soucek has lifted the lid on David Moyes’s game-plan for the AZ Alkmaar vs West Ham United Europa Conference League clash tonight.
Tomas Soucek and David Moyes were speaking to the media last night ahead of the huge AZ Alkmaar vs West Ham game.

The Hammers are in a very strong position to reach the Europa Conference League final out in Prague next month, after our 2-1 win over Alkmaar at the London Stadium last Thursday.
West Ham haven’t won a trophy since 1980, so tonight’s game means absolutely everything to our loyal fans.
Moyes hasn’t won a major trophy during his long managerial career, so tonight is massive for him as well. And it seems as though the Scot has something interesting planned for the Conference League clash…
Tomas Soucek hints at David Moyes plan for AZ Alkmaar vs West Ham
The 28-year-old Hammers midfielder sat down to speak with WHUFC.com ahead of tonight’s huge game out in Holland.
With the tie finely poised and West Ham holding a one-goal advantage, many will be expecting Moyes to instruct his team to sit back, soak up the pressure and hit the Dutch side on the counter.
However, it seems as though the Scot could be ready to throw a curveball against Alkmaar tonight, according to Soucek…
“We are very happy that we have one more goal in our hand. That’s good for us from the home game, but we don’t want to come here and defend our result. We want to play our way and we did a lot of things in the training session on how we want to play.”
That sounds to me like Moyes wants his team to begin the game on the front foot and put pressure on Alkmaar from the kick-off.
If the Scot does go with that game-plan, it will actually be a huge shock. If any game suits his preferred counter attacking system it’s the one out in Holland tonight.
Obviously the most important thing will be to get a good result this evening. However, Moyes’s setup and tactical plan will undoubtedly have a huge bearing on the outcome of the match.
And after West Ham Tomas Soucek ace hinted that David Moyes could be about to throw a shock curveball for the AZ Alkmaar clash, it seems as though the Scot has a special game-plan in mind for the biggest match we’ve faced as a club for 17 years.
Let’s hope that the 60-year-old gets in spot on out in the Netherlands tonight.
