David Moyes has responded to new Celtic links in his West Ham Euro final press conference amid Ange Postecoglou speculation.
With uncertainty surrounding David Moyes’ future at West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur managerless, both clubs have been heavily linked with mutual interest in several targets.
One of those has been Ange Postecoglou at Scottish champions Celtic.
Hammers News reported at the weekend that Tottenham chief Daniel Levy appeared set to take on former friend and West Ham vice-chair Karren Brady as he switched attentions to Celtic’s Australian boss.
West Ham, Spurs and Celtic in managerial triangle?
With Moyes’ Hammers future uncertain, Brady dropped a clear hint last month that Celtic boss Postecoglou would be her choice to replace the Scot should he depart at the end of the season.
But there was a twist this week with a report claiming Celtic could come in for their former player Moyes if Spurs lure Postecoglou away.
The Scottish Sun are reporting that Postecoglou is looking increasingly likely to be lured to Spurs.
And it states that Moyes is likely to become one of the favourites to replace him at Parkhead should that be the case.
David Moyes responds to new Celtic links in West Ham Euro final press conference amid Ange Postecoglou speculation
Now Moyes has responded to the new Celtic links in his West Ham Euro final press conference amid the Postecoglou speculation.
There have been rumours that Moyes could walk away from West Ham this summer as the club plan to appoint a top level director of football to oversee transfers.
And as Moyes faced the press ahead of West Ham’s big clash against Fiorentina on Wednesday night, the Celtic links were one of the big questions he was asked.
‘I’m really happy at the moment and settled where I am’
“I’ve never even considered it (reports linking him with the Celtic job),” Moyes said in his presser.
“I’m the West Ham manager and I’m really enjoying my period here and the club have been so good to me.
“We’ve enjoyed the journey we’re on here. I’m hopefully trying to continue growing a really good football club and I’ve not really taken any consideration (about the new Celtic links).
“Through the years I’ve been linked with lots of different jobs at different times through my career. But I’ve got to say I’m really happy at the moment and settled where I am.”
Doesn’t get much clearer than that.
But of course should Postecoglou depart the Hoops and a director of football arrive at West Ham, the landscape could change completely.
