Big Antonio/Scamacca transfer problem set to hit West Ham

Mickey Antonio is understood to be keen to leave West Ham at the end of the season which could see double trouble for the club.

The No 9 was enthusiastic to seal a deal with Wolves in the winter window and is understood to be ready to push for a move once the transfer window reopens on June 14.

His contract expires this year and the club have a year’s option attached to it. But it seems unlikely the striker will  ready to agree to that and as a result the club may have to accept a bid which is close to his value to avoid him becoming any closer to  a free transfer.

It’s a troubling scenario for the club as there appears to still be much doubt that Gianluca Scamacca could be returning to Italy as rumours continue to circulate.

The club are not convinced that he wants to remain after a stop/start first season which has seen him show only mediocre form whilst suffering injury problems which eventually saw him out of action for the season.

With Declan Rice certain to be on his way it could easily be the Irons will need two strikers and a Rice replacement in what could become another expensive transfer window.
