Real Madrid are likely to table a two-year deal with the option of another for the outgoing Liverpool star Roberto Firmino who will head into free agency soon.
The Spanish giants are keen on Firmino with the 31-year-old frontman leaving Anfield after a glittering eight-year spell as one of Jurgen Klopp’s attacking mainstays and growing into a formidable all-round player.
According to a report from Defensa Central ( via TEAMtalk), it is claimed that Firmino could be given a two-year-long contract by his suitors Real rather than an up-front three-year deal which was understood to be his preference.
Real are in the market this summer for a new striker to provide cover for their first-choice name on the team sheet – Karim Benzema – who might be staying put at the Bernabeu despite receiving a mega-money offer to make the move to Saudi Arabia.
Benzema’s game time will reduce significantly with the Ballon d’Or holder turning 35 and Firmino presents himself as a viable option to Real with the much experienced Brazilian available on a free transfer.
