Fiorentina will comfortably be the best side West Ham have faced in this season’s competition.

But it seems the Hammers are being somewhat underestimated by certain people over in Italy.

England flop Fabio Capello has done David Moyes’ final team talk for him as he disrespects West Ham and Declan Rice.

Capello became something of a joke figure during his dismal time as Three Lions boss.

‘Hammers certainly not phenomenal’

But he thinks he has West Ham all figured out.

The Italian claims the Hammers are ‘certainly not phenomenal’ and that Fiorentina have all the attributes needed to beat us.

Capello also says West Ham’s defence is distinctly average and that Fiorentina’s Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat – a fine player as we all saw at the World Cup – is without question better than Rice.

“Fiorentina have great potential, quality and pace, all the aspects you need to play against West Ham,” Capello said on RFV.

“Although the Hammers started the season badly, they improved as it went on and have some good players, even if they are certainly not phenomenal.

“The West Ham defence is no more than average and tends to clam up in its own penalty area.

“The key battle could be in midfield and Amrabat definitely has more than Rice.”

As hard as some of that might be to hear, Capello may have just done West Ham a big favour.

If Moyes was looking for any additional ways to motivate his players for the final, all he has to do is print those comments out and pin them all over the dressing room.

Let’s hope we prove Capello wrong in style come Wednesday night.
