Roma could play spoilsport to Liverpool’s hopes of signing Youri Tielemans with Jose Mourinho weighing up a move for the Belgian midfielder this summer.
Tielemans is available on a free transfer after leaving Leicester City at the end of the season and the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool have been credited with a strong interest in the 26-year-old.
According to a report from The Daily Mirror, it is claimed that AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho is keen on Tielemans whose availability on a free transfer will be of much importance to his side following their failure to secure Champions League football.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are out to revamp their engine room after a disappointing season and Tielemans is said to be one of the names on the shortlist of candidates at Anfield ahead of what should be a busy summer transfer window.
Aston Villa, following their qualification for the Europa Conference League next season, are also interested in the midfielder whose showings at the King Power Stadium in recent years had made him a high profile name in the Premier League.
