Liverpool are said to be showing a serious interest in signing Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard whose agents are in talks with the Anfield camp over a possible move this summer.
Despite Liverpool’s priority expected to be rebuilding their midfield in the forthcoming summer transfer window, Jurgen Klopp will be keen to bolster his backline which failed to hit the ground running consistently last season.
According to a claim from the German journalist Christian Falk, Liverpool are in the mix for the French World Cup winner but face stiff competition from the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Inter Milan who are keeping tabs on Pavard.
Bayern are willing to part ways with Pavard who could be made available to his suitors for €30-40 million which could come of interest to Liverpool who are fretting over the recurring injury troubles for Ibrahima Konate.
The France international is out of contract at the Allianz Arena in the summer of 2024 and there is the expectation that Bayern will be keen to cash in on him now than lose him for free next year.
