Declan Rice transfer latest: Arsenal could hold talks for West Ham star at a Premier League meeting this week… but the midfielder revealed to a young Hammers fan that he is going nowhere
Declan Rice is set to be on his way out of West Ham, with Arsenal currently leading the way for his signature.
The midfielder’s contract is set to expire next summer, but David Sullivan confirmed that Rice will be allowed to leave this summer, with the chairman also revealing that the player rejected a £200,000-a-week contract 18 months ago.
He recently guided West Ham to their first trophy in 43 years when they defeated Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final earlier this month.
With West Ham’s season now over, Arsenal could hold talks with the club about Rice this week at a Premier League chief executives meeting.
David Moyes had a meeting with David Sullivan last Friday to discuss his role and the club’s state of play, with discussions still ongoing over a technical director being appointed.

Rice’s sale price will play a major part in their final budget. The club’s recruitment department are going over plans and deals for targets. Both James Ward-Prowse and Harvey Barnes have both been linked with a move to the London Stadium.
Mail Sport reported last week that the Gunners are ready to table £90m bid for the West Ham star but face paying the West Ham skipper’s full transfer fee inside two years. The Hammers want the guaranteed portion of Rice’s transfer fee paid by next summer.
With Rice set to be on his way out of the club, the Hammers have already line up their summer targets.
Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez is seen as a potential replacement for Rice as well as James Ward-Prowse and Harvey Barnes.
While West Ham fans are set to lose their captain, Rice has recently been filmed telling a young fan he is going ‘nowhere’ amid speculation the midfielder will leave this summer.
Asked which club he is going to join, Rice replied: ‘Nowhere, I’m West Ham.’
When asked to pick a side to join, he said: ‘Nah, I don’t, West Ham’s my one.’
The Premier League summer window is set to open tomorrow, with Rice set to be the centre of attention ahead of the new season.
