Mark Warburton has departed Hammers
West Ham coach Mark Warburton has departed the club by mutual consent.
The former Brentford, Rangers, Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers manager, joined the club last June but after what are described on the official site as “amicable talks” with manager David Moyes over the last few days has now departed.
Moyes thanked the coach for all of his hard work and support during his time here. He’s played an important role for us over the last 12 months adding he had been a great help to hi personally.
But he explained: However, with his aspirations to seek a more senior position elsewhere, we felt it was the right time to agree to part ways. On behalf of all of the players and staff, I wish Mark every success in the future.”
Warburton said: “I am hugely grateful to West Ham United and, in particular, David Moyes for the opportunity to work for this fantastic football club.
“I’ve enjoyed my time here but, at this stage of my career, I am keen to seek new opportunities at a more senior level that are aligned with the attributes I believe I have to offer.
“I wish everyone at West Ham well and will always have fond memories of my time here.”
