It’s no secret that Chelsea are in the market for a forward this summer and they are considering a triple swap deal to land Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic.
Chelsea only scored 38 league goals last season which was the fifth-worst attacking return in the league.
The Blues will be boosted by Christopher Nkunku’s arrival, who scored 16 goals in the Bundesliga last time around.
However, Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign a marquee number nine and Vlahovic would tick a lot of boxes.
Juventus are said to be asking for €80m (£68.2m) for the 23-year-old and Chelsea have formulated a creative way to fund the deal.
As reported by Sport Witness, AC Milan want to sign Christian Pulisic, but they will struggle to match the salary he is currently on in London.
With this being the case, Todd Boehly could instead offer the winger to Juventus along with a couple of other unwanted stars.
The report adds the likes of Trevoh Chalobah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek could also be used to land a deal for Vlahovic.
Fabrizio Romano provided an update on the forward earlier in the month and claimed that he was a player Chelsea “appreciate”.
“For Vlahovic, he’s a player they appreciate. They already had his name on their list in January. Of course, he was untouchable for Juventus, but Vlahovic is a player Chelsea appreciate, but they have never made a bid.”
Across 63 appearances for Juventus, Vlahovic has scored 23 goals. His most prolific spell came with Fiorentina, where he scored 49 in 108 matches.
An alternative target that Chelsea can chase is Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez.
The World Cup winner is said to be open to a move to Stamford Bridge this summer and Pochettino is also open to this idea.
Martinez has had a more prolific season than Vlahovic this time around, providing 27 goals and nine assists in all competitions.
Chelsea will be well aware that they could lose a few players in this position too. Kai Havertz is being heavily linked with a move to Arsenal.
Along with this, Romelu Lukaku’s future at Stamford Bridge is also up in the air right now. With an offer from Al Hilal, he could be the latest star to sign up to the Saudi League.
