Atalanta have slapped a €60m (£50m) price tag on Manchester City target Ederson, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Catalan publication reports that the Brazilian’s club are not going to let him on leave on the cheap when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
Ederson has been tipped as one of several options as the Citzyens consider potential replacements for the injured Rodri.
The 28-year-old is not expected to play again in the league this season, having sustained anterior cruciate ligament damage during the 2-2 draw against Arsenal back in September.
City will have competition for the midfielder
Mundo Deportivo claim that the Premier League champions will have to see off the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus if they want to secure Ederson’s services.
You would think that the midfielder’s asking price would rule out Juve from making a bid, but PSG is a different matter entirely.
After selling Manuel Ugarte to Manchester United last summer, the Ligue One champions are likely to be in a market for a holding midfielder and a move for Ederson cannot be ruled out.
Ederson has hinted that he would be open to a Premier League move
City are not the only English club that have been linked with the Brazilian over the last 12 months, with rivals Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle also in the mix.
When asked about his future back in the summer, Ederson declared he was happy at Atalanta but he did admit he would consider a switch to England:
“I don’t know, I’ve thought about it a lot, I like Italy, I’m well adapted, but I’m curious about the Premier League, so I don’t know.”
“I’m still growing, so I don’t know if I’ll stay in Italy, I think I still have more to prove. If I go somewhere else, then too. I will continue to grow.”
