Jean-Clair Todibo joined West Ham United on an initial loan deal from Nice in the summer.
West Ham fans were absolutely buzzing when Jean-Clair Todibo arrived at the London Stadium.
Todibo recently suggested that he isn’t even 80% up to speed yet, and insisted that there’s a lot more still to come from him.
The Frenchman is widely considered to be one of the best young central defenders on the continent.
I must admit, I was shocked when we managed to sign him.
And I’ll be even more shocked if he remains with West Ham beyond the end of the summer of 2025.
A new claim has just emerged that will have the Hammers fans on edge.
Jean-Clair Todibo twist with West Ham move under scrutiny
The 24-year-old is just starting to find his feet in the Premier League with the Hammers.
He made a slow start to life with West Ham, but his quality is starting to shine through now.
However, does he actually want to be at the London Stadium?
It seems like he’d be a Juventus player now if he had his way.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Todibo was ‘forced’ to join the Hammers in the summer.
That’s because West Ham outbid Juventus in the race to sign the 24-year-old centre-back.
We have an obligation to buy him for £34 million in the summer according to TMW.
To me, it seems like West Ham centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo is the kind of player who will jump ship at the first opportunity he gets.
I really hope I’m wrong, and we have him at the London Stadium for another two or three years at least, but I just can’t see it unfortunately.
It will be very interesting to see what happens if a Champions League club comes in to sign him after we’ve made his move permanent in the summer.
