West Ham United surely have an advantage over Tottenham Hotspur in the race to prise Roger Ibanez away from Jose Mourinho’s Roma this summer.
Roger Ibanez of Roma is being targeted by Tottenham and West Ham in the summer transfer window according to a report from Roma Giallorossa.

Jose Mourinho is apparently prepared to allow the Brazilian to leave the Stadio Olimpico for an absolute bargain – just £30 million by all accounts.
Ibanez is a top-class defender and would be a great signing for either the Hammers or Spurs.
I feel like David Moyes might just have an advantage over Ange Postecoglou in the race to sign the 24-year-old centre-back though…
Jose Mourinho could help West Ham and hurt Tottenham simultaneously in Roger Ibanez chase
The Portuguese legend has lashed out at Tottenham on numerous occasions since his sacking from the north London club, and Daniel Levy in particular (The Sun).
And recently he name checked every club he has worked for, suggesting that it was a privilege to manage them…all apart from one – Spurs.
Now, with the frosty relationship between Jose and Tottenham, I believe that the Hammers might just have an advantage in the race for Ibanez.
Mourinho has never shied away from being petty, and if he puts his foot down, he definitely could prevent the 24-year-old defender from joining Spurs. Let’s hope that I’m right, because the South American would be a very good signing for us.
Roma Press describe Ibanez as one of Mourinho’s favourites, and he played a key role for the Serie A side this season.
The Brazilian is a strong centre-back, although he can also play at right-back or in defensive midfield. £30 million sounds like great value to me.
And I have a sneaky suspicion that West Ham might just be able to beat Tottenham to the signing of Roger Ibanez this summer.
