BREAKING NEWS: Arsenal to submit new £90m bid for Declan Rice – rising to almost £100m with add-ons – as he expects a move from West Ham to go through within 10 days
- The Gunners have long had the West Ham captain as their No 1 transfer target
- Their opening offer was snubbed by the Hammers, who rejected payment set up
- West Ham are keen to trigger a bidding war for their highly-rated midfielder
Arsenal are set to submit an improved official bid of a minimum £90million for Declan Rice in the next 24 hours.
The Gunners have made Rice their No 1 target and have already seen an offer of £80m plus and extra £10m in add-ons rejected by West Ham.
However, the Gunners will make a new offer which it is understood will be worth a minimum £90m plus add-ons that could push the fee closer to £100m.
Rice heads off on holiday this week after an arduous 61-game season expecting to be an Arsenal player by the end of the month.
Personal terms – well in-excess of £200,000-per-week – will be formally agreed very quickly once West Ham and Arsenal reach a middle ground.
The 24-year-old is set to join the Emirates at the end of the month if the Hammers accept Arsenal’s improved bid
West Ham want to trigger an auction for Rice as they seek to recoup over £100million for their captain.
But Rice wants to join Arsenal, who have already verbally indicated their intention to make a second bid.
