The Premier League has released Liverpool’s 2023/24 schedule.
A difficult start awaits the Reds as they face Chelsea away when their campaign kicks off on August 13. The last two times the clubs faced off in the Premier League turned out to be nil-nil draws. However, with the London club looking to strengthen their squad and new head coach Mauricio Pochettino at the helm, they’ll be looking at nothing short of a win.
The next few fixtures are relatively easier for the Reds, with Bournemouth at home, Newcastle away at St. James’ Park, Villa at home, and Wolves away at Molineux. However, as they say, no game is an easy one in the Premier League.
Clashes against the Big 6 are relatively spaced out in the first half of the season. After their first match clash with Chelsea, the Reds will travel to London for a bout with Tottenham Hotspur on September 30.
They will face off against reigning champions Manchester City at the Etihad on the 25th of November. However, Liverpool will have a tough week on their hands as they have to face both Manchester United and Arsenal within a week of each other, with these clashes coming on the 16th and 23rd of December respectively.
This year’s schedule has been relatively kind to Liverpool, at least for the first half of the season. Matches scheduled after the new year see clashes against the Big 6 being more frequent, with them having to face Chelsea and Arsenal back to back in the same week on the 31st of January and the 3rd of February respectively.
If you’re looking forward to the Merseyside Derby above all else, Liverpool will be facing Everton at home on the 21st of October and will be travelling across the city to face Everton away on March 16th. These clashes have little to stand against their past glory, but they will still promise to be a heated battle for bragging rights.
Liverpool’s Europa League group and schedule are yet to be announced. But one thing is for certain, this season will be difficult for the Reds, but we all hope they’ll find a way to overcome all odds to surprise us once again.
