However, it appears as though Hammers boss David Moyes faces an uphill battle of he is to bring Disasi to the London Stadium.
That’s because Man United are allegedly in pole position to obtain the France international’s signature this summer…
Manchester United allegedly close to signing Axel Disasi for £35 million
RMC Sport reckon that Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag will sit down and talk with Disasi very soon about a £35 million move to Old Trafford this summer.
Moyes really should have moved quicker to sign the Frenchman either last summer or in January of this year.
The Monaco defender would be an exceptional addition for West Ham this summer. He is literally the perfect long-term replacement for Kurt Zouma.
So with that in mind, missing out on him to Man United will be a big blow for the Hammers.
He was part of Didier Deschamps’ France World Cup squad, and impressed for Les Bleus out in Qatar.
Disasi is an absolute powerhouse of a centre-back, and he can play as a right-back as well.
The Frenchman possesses blistering pace, has composure in possession and is extremely strong both in the air and on the ground in the tackle.
In 38 Ligue 1 games for Monaco this season, Disasi racked up three goals and three assists. During those outings he has averaged 0.8 tackles, 1.5 interceptions, 2.9 clearances and 2.6 successful aerial duels per game (Who Scored).
The France international is a good passer of the football as well. In 38 Ligue 1 games for Monaco this term, he made 50.5 passes on average per match and recorded an average completion rate of 83.8% (Who Scored).
Monaco Tribune describe Axel Disasi as a ‘towering colossus’. I would absolutely love him at West Ham but as things stand, it seems as though he could well be Manchester United bound unfortunately.
