West Ham United reportedly could miss out to Fulham on the signing of Southampton star James Ward-Prowse this summer.
According to the Independent, Fulham have joined West Ham in the race to sign James Ward-Prowse from Southampton.

Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to bring in a top-class central midfielder with Declan Rice on his way out of the club, and leadership skills will be something that the Scot is keen to add to his ranks.
For that reason, as well as his devastating ability from set-pieces, Ward-Prowse seems to be ideally suited to West Ham. However, Moyes may well be left disappointed…
Fulham join West Ham in James Ward-Prowse race
According to the Independent, the Cottagers have stepped in to try and beat the Hammers to the 10-capped England international’s signature this summer.
The thing is, if Ward-Prowse is as expensive as some reports are suggesting – £50 million – then missing out on him wouldn’t be the end of the world in my opinion. That’s not to say that is isn’t a very good player…
The 28-year-old has been described as the ‘Premier League’s most underrated player’ by Michael Richards (Daily Echo). However, I think we need to be more ambitious in our summer recruitment.
His free-kick and corner taking technique has been described as ‘unreal’ (Give Me Sport).
Maybe if we could pick him up for £25-30 million, it would be a deal worth pursuing.
However, if Southampton are demanding more than that kind of money for James Ward-Prowse, then West Ham should just let Fulham have him.
There are a lot better and more cost effective options out there for the Hammers this summer.
