Bayern Munich are watching Chelsea hurl custard pies at Man Utd with a view to moving for Mason Mount. They also want Kyle Walker to bring a mate from Man City…
BAYERN COULD TAKE MOUNT FOR FREE
After hearing late last night that their third, and supposedly final, offer for Mason Mount has been rejected by Chelsea, Manchester United are considering their next move. If they’ve anything about them, it will simply be: do nothing.
United offered £50million and a further £5million in potential add-ons, but Chelsea politely declined again, countering with a proposal for £58million up front and £7million in add-ons. The Blues also offered to meet in person to thrash out a deal. Because they need this done as much as United.
So it’s convenient for Chelsea that Bayern Munich are being linked with Mount. The Daily Mail says Thomas Tuchel remains a ‘huge admirer’ of his former player and Bayern are among ‘a number of top European clubs monitoring Mount closely’ with a view to a pre-contract agreement in January. Which would see Chelsea receive nothing for their academy graduate but they hope it will smoke another few quid out of United.
Bayern are also being linked with another England midfielder. Having walked away from the battle for Declan Rice, the Bavarians are eyeing a move for Kalvin Phillips, according to Bild.
Phillips has spoken of his desire to stay at City but could find himself surplus to requirements if City land Rice ahead of Arsenal. The ex-Leeds midfielder could hitch a ride to Munich with Kyle Walker, who is said to have been offered a two-year deal with the Bundesliga champions.

CHELSEA TRIO EYED BY INTER
When Chelsea dispatch three of their stars to Saudi Arabia, they could package up another couple to send to Milan…
Cesar Azpilicueta has another year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge but the Daily Mail reckons the former Spain defender has already agreed terms on a two-year deal with Inter.
The 33-year-old could be joined at the San Siro by 23-year-old Trevoh Chalobah. And Inter haven’t given up hope of keeping Romelu Lukaku, though they won’t pay what Chelsea want to make his stay a permanent arrangement.
SPURS WAIT ON JUVE DEFENDER
Tottenham appear to have signed a new goalkeeper from Italy and Guglielmo Vicario could be followed to north London by Gleison Bremer.
The Telegraph says Spurs are monitoring the Brazilian’s situation at Juventus, with the former Liverpool target possibly being made available a year after moving across Turin for an initial £35million.
Ange Postecoglu wants at least one centre-back, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba and Manchester United’s Harry Maguire also under consideration.
